Pinhole Camera 2nd Update

Since my last post, I have shot 10 photos total on my pinhole camera. While I was still at my camp in Bay St. Louis, I captured the large collection of beautiful trees and then I photographed the dock over the water.

For the tree photos, I took 3 different exposures:

  1. 30s

  2. 45s

  3. 1m

For the dock photos, I also took 3 exposures:

  1. 15s

  2. 30s

  3. 45s

After these 6 photos were developed, the tree photos were the only ones that actually turned out. I am guessing that my box was not closed all the way or somehow light got in my darkroom while exchanging the photos. Here are the results:

After I took these photos and went back to Baton Rouge, I had to really search for new inspiration around my house, since this project is very limiting on location- due to needing to have a darkroom present. So far, I have come up with putting a hammock in between two trees to create a peaceful atmosphere like I am going for.

I know this image doesn't look super interesting now, but I am hoping that with the final photo in black and white and there being a slight blurred motion will add an ethereal look. The issue I had with taking this photo was that I had really no flat surface to put the pinhole camera to take the photo, so I had to hold it up against a pole to add stability. So I am hoping these photos actually turn out and aren't a disaster. I am also a little nervous that there is still a light leak in the box that will hinder the final photo, but I guess I will have to see!

For this shot, I took 4 more photos:

  1. 20s

  2. 22s

  3. 25s

  4. 30s

I am very excited to see how these photos will turn out and I look forward to improving each photo process every time!
